William R. Childs, Ph.D., J.D. received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the College of William and Mary and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). During his Ph.D. studies, William filed patent applications on his inventions and was so fascinated by the practice of patent law that he decided to attend law school at the Chicago-Kent College of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate.

 

Dr. Childs has been practicing intellectual property law for over a decade, including founding and running his own law firm, Childs Law. He uses his expertise in patent law to help scientists and engineers protect their inventions and profit margins. In addition, Dr. Childs helps businesses protect their reputation with trademarks, their creativity with copyrights, and their commercial advantages with trade secrets.
