Dr. Liping Tang

Dr. Tang is an expert on tissue engineering and medical device biocompatibility. Dr. Tang’s group is actively working on the development of bioactive materials to treat different injuries by eliciting autologous stem cell-mediated tissue regeneration associated. He was the recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the Society for Biomaterials in 2001, the Established Investigator Award from the National American Heart Association in 2003, the UTA College of Engineering Excellence in Research Award in 2010, the UTA’s Outstanding Research Achievement Award in 2012, and UTA’s Outstanding Academic Advisor-Graduate Faculty Advisor award in 2013. Dr. Tang has been awarded with UTA College of Engineering Board of Advisors Endowed Professorship, Jostens Endowed Professorship, and Distinguished University Professorship. He was recently elected to be a Fellow of the American Heart Association, a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and a Fellow of Biomaterials Science and Engineering.
