Dr. Jin Chen
Assistant Professor
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX

In 2010, Jin Chen received his B.S. in Applied Physics and Biomedical Engineering from Yale University. In 2015, Jin obtained his Ph.D. with Jody Puglisi at Stanford University as a Stanford Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellow, working on single-molecule biophysics of ribosome translation. From 2016 to 2020, he was Jane Coffin Childs postdoctoral fellow with Jonathan Weissman at UCSF, using genome-wide CRISPR screens and deep sequencing techniques to study non-canonical translation and the functions of unannotated, novel microproteins, and he was awarded the NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award in 2019. In 2020, he joined the faculty at UT Southwestern as an Endowed Scholar and CPRIT Scholar. For more information on his research program, please visit https://jinchenlab.com/.
